Ms. Ong was called to the Malaysian Bar on 2008 and is the Executive Partner that co-oversees the management and administration of both the Northern Region and Federal Territory offices. In addition to her administrative duties, Ms. Ong’s practice has experience in a wide variety of areas in civil law with particular emphasis in financial services and banking litigation, construction law and arbitration.
She regularly acts for and provides advisory to major financial institutions on matters of debt recovery, liquidation and insolvency. She undertakes advocacy at all levels and has appeared in a number of reported cases both as lead counsel as well as assisting counsel to the Senior Partner Chan. One of her notable reported cases was her successful representation as Lead Counsel for a number of the Petitioning Creditors in a bankruptcy proceeding at the Penang High Court. Ms. Ong is also a key member of the Firm’s Arbitration team and regularly co-ordinates the firm’s legal documentation in arbitration proceedings.
Ong’s immense knowledge in civil procedures at both the courts of first instance and appellate courts also equips her to provide guidance and serve as supervising partner for the junior associates of our firm.
